Infinergy believes wind energy to be an important answer to the threats of global warming and climate change and is therefore committed to making a significant contribution to renewable energy targets in the United Kingdom. In developing wind farms, Infinergy is keen on liaising with local communities to be able to design wind farms that are sympathetic to local landscapes and local energy needs.
Infinergy is a sponsoring member of BWEA. The company is based in Wimborne, Dorset.
Alaska Wind Farm is a joint venture between Infinergy and the landowner Will Bond.
Will Bond is a traditional rural landowner, living and working from an office near the proposed site. The 'Alaska' in the site name comes from Will's company 'Alaska Environmental Contracting Ltd', which is well respected for its habitat management and restoration work on ecologically sensitive sites across the UK.
Alaska Environmental Contracting's work essentially involves getting to grips with work that needs undertaking on Sites of Special Scientific Interest, which requires proper research and preparation, and then carrying out with care.
Will's involvement in this wind farm proposal follows a similar pattern of careful research and preparation and, having decided the job is worth doing and should be done, is committed to implementing it as well as possible.
A local man, Will Bond has lived in the area for over 50 years. With his wife, he is bringing up two children who attend nearby schools. His company, Alaska Environmental Contracting, which is based near the proposed wind farm site, employs 10 people.
