We strongly believe that Alaska Wind Farm is a good project, with viable wind speeds, no objections from any of the professsional expert bodies such as Natural England, the Ministry of Defence and the Dorset AONB team and lots of local support. For these reasons we have appealed Purbeck District Council's refusal of planning permission with the Planning Inspectorate. The Public Inquiry sessions were held locally in April 2012.
On Friday 6th July 2012, the Planning Inspector approved Alaska Wind Farm which will be the first wind energy development of its kind in Dorset. We are delighted with this huge step forward for renewable energy generation in the County and we would like to say a big thank you to all who have supported us throughout Alaska's lenghty planning process.
