Welcome to Alaska Wind Farm

According to a 2011 study by Dorset County Council, 83% of people in the County believe that national green energy targets of 15% by 2020 ought to be met. However, Dorset currently generates less than 1% of its total energy demand from renewable energy. To help increase this amount, Infinergy is proposing Masters Quarry, East Stoke as a possible site for four wind turbines. The project has been named Alaska Wind Farm, after the landowner's business.

We strongly believe that Alaska Wind Farm is a good project, with viable wind speeds, no objections from any of the professsional expert bodies such as Natural England, the Ministry of Defence and the Dorset AONB team and lots of local support. We also believe that it deserves a decision based on objective planning considerations. For these reasons we have now lodged an appeal against Purbeck District Council's refusal with the Planning Inspectorate. For the story so far, please click here.

The Planning Inspector is keen to hear how you feel about the proposals. If you support Alaska Wind Farm, please express your views - preferably by the 8th December 2011. Click here for more information.
